Custom-built Databases
Our in-house developers can create a custom-built database to follow any specification. We can develop our databases to work either on our own Apache-enabled Linux servers, or to any external servers, even to the cloud.
Apache-enable Linux Servers
We have been involved in the internet from the beginning and, as such, we have worked very closely with servers and server development over the years. All of our own webservers are owned by us and run on the Linux operating system, with Apache enabled. We have chosen this pathway for the ease of implementing advanced PHP coding, and because of the increased stability this platform offers. We store back-ups of every website on our servers for up to 30 days.
External Servers
Although all of our servers run on the Linux operating system, we are able to implement webservices, such as databases, on any other physical server. The main alternative to Linux servers are Microsoft-run. We can establish a database for Microsoft, however, all websites designed and constructed by EQ Creative are configured to run on our own servers, however it is not a problem for us to configure the website for an external server. we cannot guarantee any websites that are stored or hosted on any third-party websites. We also cannot guarantee any back-ups will be stored, please check with your hosting provider.
Cloud Servers
While Cloud computing is not exactly a new technology, it has grown in popularity over the previous year. There are many benefits to making use of Cloud servers, such as saving copies of all data online, acessible from anywhere, anytime. Cloud computing is also generally described as allowing the user to make changes to the server, such as increasing RAM or even changing the location, without having to take the server offline. As with any piece of new technology, please verify the terms set out by your hosting provider before signing any contracts.
Content Management Systems (CMS)
Content Management Systems are solutions, whereby we empower the user to manage their own website updates. By having a CMS implemented into your website, you will be able to customise the content by adding, editing and deleting within proscribed parameters. A CMS, for example, could be used to create and add content to news pages, upload or delete images from galleries, and even update your site with new offers and promotions. You access the CMS via a specific URL-path, which we will provide you with, along with the username and password to access the new website control panel.
Our custom-built content management systems are generally constructed in PHP, however there are many other coding languages that can be used, such as Microsoft's ASP, Java's JSP, Python and PERL, and are able to perform a wide array of functions. We have implemented our CMS control panel with a basic HTML text editor, allowing you to change the font type, size, colour and decorations (underlining and italicising). This means that you are not just able to create text content that is effective and to-the-point, but is also aesthetically pleasing and that follows the overall design of your website.
Advanced CMS Functionality
As well as the creation of a basic content management system that allows for more advanced functionality. For example, we have recently constructed a system that will generate HTML code for creating visually dynamic email signatures, even enabling the customers to insert featured products. We have also created platforms that have allowed our customers to create custom vouchers, which visitors to their website can print off and use at a later date.
